Craquelê is not possible to repair and usually occurs with the ageing of the piece and it is the manifestation of differential stresses between the glaze and the ceramic substrate of the pieces. This phenomenon develops according to the conditions of application and use, as well as the conditions in which the piece has been stored and handled. We acknowledge that all products have a variable life span, require periodic maintenance and sometimes replacements to restore its functionality.
However, ceramic pieces that exhibit this problem can be used normally without any kind of constraint. They just present an aged appearance.
This situation can happen when the Slowclose system creates some resistance and prevents it from holding its vertical position. We suggest you to pull the seat’s hinges forward (as much as the hinge hole allows) in order to create a wider opening. Then try holding the seat’s cover against the cistern for a few seconds and repeat it a few times. If this doesn’t work you will need to replace the Slowclose system dampers.
